HOW IS OSTEOPATHY DIFFERENT TO OTHER ALLIED HEALTH FIELDS?

Rather than just treat your symptoms, Osteopaths perform a comprehensive assessment to figure out exactly WHY an injury or condition has occurred and give you the tools to prevent it from happening again.

For example, a patient with low back pain will not just receive treatment on their lower back. Your Osteopath will look above and below (the upper back, hips, legs and feet) to determine what factors are playing a role in your pain!

HOW MANY APPOINTMENTS UNTIL I FEEL BETTER?

The number of appointments it will take will vary from person to person. Generally speaking, you can expect your pain to decrease within 1-2 times. To achieve long lasting results it commonly takes around 4-5 sessions before you are able to address the real underlying causes and make a change!

IS OSTEOPATHY SAFE?
Osteopaths undergo rigorous training (a 3 year undergraduate degree and 1.5-2 year masters) to ensure that we are capable of providing safe and effective care in the community. Throughout the degree we cover an extensive amount of anatomy, physiology and pathology so that we can assess, diagnose and treat safely. We learn about red flags and know exactly when a patient should be referred on to a GP or specialist and have strong connections that allow us to co-manage efficiently.
DO I NEED A REFERRAL TO SEE AN OSTEO?

No. Osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners, this means that you are able to book an appointment without a referral from your doctor. However, your Osteopath may still contact your doctor or any other relevant healthcare practitioners to ensure you are receiving appropriate care.

DO YOU OFFER HICAPS ON THE SPOT CLAIMING FOR PRIVATE/MEDICARE REBATES?

Yes. We offer HICAPS claiming on the spot through MediPass and our eftpos terminal. Please ensure that you have your private health care card with you to claim. Alternatively, an invoice can be printed for you to claim at a later date.
