Supporting Banh Neighbourhood Homes

Throughout the Melbourne lockdown period, Osteopath Will has been volunteering at Banh Neighbourhood homes on a Thursday morning assisting with the delivery of their food security program which provides much needed food staples for those living in Richmond community, specifically  those in the North Richmond public housing estates. 

Banh Inc. is a community organisation which is backed by the state government and City of Yarra. Along with community and volunteer support, Banh Inc. runs community based events throughout the year covering broad areas of interest such as English lessons to roller disco parties. We asked Will to chat about his experiences so far:

How did you hear about Banh Inc.?

I came across Banh Inc. from a post in Richmond 3121 facebook group, checked out their page and saw all of the good things that they were doing in the community and had to get involved!

What have you enjoyed about volunteering at Banh so far?

I’ve really enjoyed meeting new like minded people who have genuine care and interest for others, whilst being able to actively contribute to the community in which I work and love!

How else can people get involved?

• Volunteer your time with Banh, they have numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the week. Just bring a positive attitude!
• Encourage your friends to support the organisation by attending events and following Banh Inc on socials to see what events are coming up
• Book yourself in for an osteo treatment (new clients only) at DG Health between 16/11-28/11/20, with all proceeds going to Banh to assist with delivery of food security program by assisting with the purchasing of fruits/veg
