WHY Telehealth might be right for you
It’s 2020.
Times are changing. The future is here.
Gone are the days where you need to attend a face to face consultation to get help with your aches and pains! Whilst relatively new to the scene, virtual allied health appointments are enabling people everywhere to get access to quality health care from the comfort of their own home.
With the help of a secure online video based server, practitioners are able to discuss problems, provide an explanation to why the problem may be occurring and outline the most optimal management plan.
Although the “hands on” aspect that Osteopaths are traditionally known for may be missing, you’ll still be receiving the same quality advice and care to allow you to take control of your health and wellbeing.
Telehealth FAQs
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth consists of a virtual (online) appointment with our osteopath through a secure online system from the comfort of your own home.
Why choose online?
There are a number of reasons that someone might choose an online Telehealth appointment! If you are time poor, unable to travel, unwell or for whatever reason cannot physically get to the gym this can be a great alternative.
What happens during the appointment?
As with a face to face appointment, your osteopath will take a thorough history and may guide you through an assessment. A working diagnosis will be provided so that you fully understand what’s going on and then a management plan will be proposed – this would generally consist of a combination of mobility work, self release, home exercise and other advice but of course it depends on the individual! Your management plan will be tailored to you to get you out of pain and back doing what you enjoy as quickly (and safely) as possible.
Do you accept new patients for Telehealth?
Certainly! New patients will be required to complete a new patient/consent form online prior to the appointment.
What do I need for this appointment?
You will require a laptop, tablet, mobile phone or similar device that has a working camera and microphone.
How much does a Telehealth appointment cost?
$49 for a 30 minute appointment – payable online at the time of booking.
Am I able to claim my Telehealth appointment under Medicare or private health?
At this stage unfortunately not! We have kept the appointment fee as low as possible to make it affordable for everyone.
